The Stairway River was a river which was part of the Upstream Marshwoods, believed to eventually meet up with the River of the Marshwoods before eventually flowing into the southernmost portionon of the region before flowing into the ocean. It was situated just west of Qifrey's Atelier, within riding distance by horse [1][2] After an incident where the bridge spanning the river collapsed, [1] magic ink, secretly modified by the Brimmed Hat Group, caused a spell to misfire during the rescue attempts by Qifrey's Atelier. This resulted in the entire river turining to sand, completely destroying the landscape in that area through a massive magic disaster,[3] causing the river downstream to temporarily run dry.[4] Olruggio constructed a bridge made from sand to replace the broken one, and the water quickly began to return, restoring the river's flow.[5] It is unkown what long lasting effects the spell had on the enviroment of the area.
