Used crush and mix the ingredients used in conjuring ink, the component pestle allows witches to mix dies into their ink that gives their ink and the spells they make with it special properties.[1] The properties that these inks add have a plethora of effects, ranging from waterproofing to increasing the power of the spell.[citation needed] The tool itself is identical to a typical stone and pestle, with the pestle being used to grind the material between it and the stone wall of the bowl.
